Area Events to Support Charities
Many of the charities supported by the United Protestant Church hold their own fundraisers such as galas, races and golf events. Some of these events are listed below in chronological order.
Northern Illinois Food Bank Foodie 5K Race/Walk will be held Saturday, May 14 at Independence Grove in Libertyville. Event begins at 9am. To register as a team or individual or to volunteer or donate go to www.SolveHungerToday.org/Foodie5K. Proceeds help feed area residents in need.
Lake County Haven Sea of Change Gala at the Cuneo Mansion in Vernon Hills on Saturday, May 14 at 6pm
Soles for Jesus: Mark your calendar and invite your friends and family to our third annual Race for Soles on Saturday, June 25 from 8:30am to 11:30 am! The event will start and end at the beautiful campus of Waukesha County Technical College, and we'll enjoy a scenic route through the streets of Pewaukee. The morning will also include medals, prizes, refreshments, exciting activities and games. By participating, you are helping to touch lives across the globe. This event is for individuals and families of all ages.
YWCA: Drive for Change, a charity golf classic will be held Friday, July 29 at the White Deer Run Golf Club in Vernon Hills. Registration opens at 7:00am. Shotgun start at 8:00am. All proceeds will support advocacy & local programming geared towards youth leadership and development, women's economic advancement, health, child care resources and racial justice. YWCA supports over 65,000 women, children & families in Lake County. Event package includes 18-hole scramble, golf cart and GPS, range balls, customized bag tag and both breakfast and lunch buffets.
